Trans Van Links Express Corp. (TVL) , though established in 1983, had started its forwarder business since 1988 when it was a subordinate to Shipping Agency Department. In the early years the forwarding business was not so prosperous and the main job was merely act as booking agent for shipping lines. Having seen the prospect of Taiwan forwarding business, TVL made a breakthrough on the operation of the so called shipping lines agent. Tvl designed a flexible operation system according to the complicated character of international inter-modal transportation. This system not only surpassed the traditional port to port concept but also covered a brand new concept of door to door service. The key points of the operation system are, 1. Obtaining and confirming shipping instruction from clients or sales department. 2. Checking and confirming the concerned information from loading ports and discharging ports. 3. Sorting and gathering related information from customers, customs brokers, shipping lines, warehouse, competitors, and foreign agents. Getting better understanding on the current market. Dealing with special situation and knowing the liability and risk of handling consignments. 4. Providing relevant information to the sales department. Beginning from Hong Kong Line, TVL started container consolidation service and issued its own bill of lading. Traffic between Australia, Japan, South East Asia, America, Europe, South Africa and Middle East Asia were set up followingly. In 1989 TVL established its Kaohsiung office and in 1994 Taichung office to cater the widespread needs of Taiwan. During the 20 years of operation, TVL has undergone several waves of economic recession. Due to the prudent style of directing board and the hard work of all staff, TVL can still maintain the 10% of growing edge year by year, and has become the leading company of this field. Now TVL service covers sea freight forwarder, customs declaration and door to door services between areas as Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, South East Asia, America, Europe, South Africa and Middle-East Asia. To cater to the various international logistical trend, TVL has dedicated its effort on cutting unnecessary procedure of transportation, hoping to make the distance shorter between the manufacturer and the consumer, lower direct or indirect cost incurred. Tvl also hopes that the idea will become a common sense between the field and the clients, and benefit both parties in the long term.
