"It all happened in the scorching heat of the summer of 1997. An idea, which was conceived by Mr. Thomas Thanangadan for years, had been brought into reality under the chairmanship of Mr. Adil Bin Khamis Bin Saleh Al-Zadjali, a known figure in port affairs. It was the birth of Starline Shipping, a modest beginning but a strategy. A strategy, which was almost unfound in the agenda of the leaders in the industry here. Our target was to provide “Total Solution” to the highly potential local manufacturing industries with limited infrastructure. We were right and
Our growth record since the time of our inception has been 20% per annum. Although this figure is highly laudable in the industry we have never looked back. We have never been euphoric in our achievements that were always considered history, rather stressful in correcting our mistakes. Today we are enjoying a sizeable movement of freight inwards and outwards. At Starline, each individual staff is trained and instructed to behave like pediatricians when it comes to handling inward and outward freight.
Although a strategy was in place we have never been complacent with that. Today we are moving and clearing freight be it toxic chemicals, pulses, cereals to high tech computers and aircraft spares.
However, to provide “Total Solution” to our benefactors will be our priority. today we are enjoying being associated with a majority of such industries in the Sultanate."
