JCtrans: Would you please make a brief introduction of your company? 

Zebiba Mohammed: PACKTRA PLC was established in 1991 G.C in Addis Ababa and has emerged as one of the leading freight forwarders and customs clearing agents in Ethiopia. It is backed with network of agents, distinguished for their competence, efficiency and dedication in the field. PACKTRA PLC is a member of IATA, FIATA, IAM , CPN , WCA , and certified by ISO 9001:2008 QMS for its quality management system. 

JCtrans: Would you please talk about your core-competitiveness? 

Zebiba Mohammed: We are in this business for the past 27 years & we have the capacity, expertise & experience to provide all kind of services in a better way than other organization who engaged in running the same business. The past 27 years taught us best lessons about this business. 

JCtrans: What do you think is the most important thing to run a logistics company? 

Zebiba Mohammed: To run a logistic company the most important things is first done by the company itself. 

JCtrans: Would you please talk about the situation of logistic industry in your country? 

Zebiba Mohammed: The situation of logistics industry in our country currently is in a flourishing stage. It’s because so many investments sector (like garment, textile, horticulture, floriculture…etc) & industrial zones are established in different parts of the country. furthermore in earlier times we were using a Djibouti port as a transit port but currently our government reached an agreement with Eritrean government to use Asab port & this will give a very high advantage for the whole logistics industry in the country. 

JCtrans: Would you please talk about your strategy to explore foreign market? 

Zebiba Mohammed: We explore foreign markets easily by using our membership of different international organization & also through recommendation (Good word) of our customers. As I mentioned on the introduction part we are member of WCA, IATA, IAM & Jc Trans so we can address foreign market through this organization. 

JCtrans: What is the reason that makes you become a GCP member to develop your business? 

Zebiba Mohammed: As you know JCtrans is the largest logistics industry platform and its members include shipper, forwarders, importer/Exporter, customs brokers, carriers…etc. GCP help us to develop & expand our business relation with all of its members in a very easy way. It makes us financially secured. This means it offer us a guarantee to cover claims up to USD 50,000 per year, aiming to provide compensation for money lost due to non-payment of invoices. It provides us more business opportunity to access to global agent list, cargo leads, agency request info, freight rates…etc. We get a chance to participate in Jctrans global freight forwarders conference & to have a one to one meeting with various agents around the world by a lowest registration fee. It advertises our company on line moreover our company became recommended to other jctrans members who want to have business in Ethiopia plus when we need agents from abroad we get suggestion who full fills our needs.

JCtrans: How do you maintain a long-term cooperation relationship with your clients? 

Zebiba Mohammed: We built our relationship with the clients on transparency. Our company arranges shipments with multiple carriers which cater to the unique needs of every customer. Customization of our service makes the customers satisfied & retain with us. As a logistic company we finds out that it necessary to have healthy & unambiguous conversations with our customers therefore; we keep them updated about their shipment besides we don’t hold back info. from our clients. We collect feedback from our customer always after delivery of their good & based on their feedback we can take measure immediately on areas where they disappoint. We always keep our word and delivered there goods on time; furthermore we provide them the best service in the country because of this not only we retain our customer & we also get new customers using a good word of mouth. Most importantly the main thing which help us to establish a long term relation with our clients is; we make a very close follow up to all their business to offer the highest possible level of service and care.
