JCtrans: Would you please make a brief introduction of your company?
Kevin Addison: 1UP Cargo is a full-service International Freight Forwarding Business with Offices across Australia and Canada
JCtrans: Would you please talk about your core-competitiveness?
Kevin Addison: We believe that our core competitiveness lies in the fact that while China – Australia – Canada is our main market, which we know very well, we have staff strategically placed across the Globe that offers our Overseas Partners 24/7 access to Staff when straight answers are needed. All staff are available on wechat, whatsapp, emails and mobile whenever needed.
Further as mentioned, we know the China market very well and what is needed to ensure our Partners there have the greatest chance of success in securing the local customer.
JCtrans: What do you think is the most important thing to run a logistics company?
Kevin Addison: We believe that effective communication with all Staff, Partners and Clients is vitally important to ensuring success in any business, let alone Logistics. We are a people business that is responsible for moving information between parties.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about the situation of logistic industry in your country?
Kevin Addison: Logistics in Australia is an ever-evolving business with industry changed happening quite quickly. Australian Government has taken steps in past few years to ensure it becomes easier and more visible for Business to be completed on an International stage.
We are heading into amalgamation of some carriers over the next few months so it will be interesting if any shifts will happen in Master negotiations with these carriers as to prepaid or collect preferences and the space and equipment to match.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about your strategy to explore foreign market?
Kevin Addison: Our strategy has always been since inception, to place a strong emphasis on promoting 1UP Cargo strengths in Australia as the agent of choice through both referrals and regular visits to form strong partnerships however I firmly believe 2020 will se a stronger focus on local sales within Australia through our sales team to better support our strategic partners in the foreign market with FOB business.
We already have a strong sales team in place across Australia and will focus on this to further aid development of China – Australia market.
JCtrans: What is the reason that makes you become a GCP member to develop your business?
Kevin Addison: We believe that Financial Protection is vitally important in any International Business and to this end, becoming a GCP member was a no brainer. When we commit to a Network, we whole heartedly commit and believe that the GCP membership offers us everything we need and more. We also believe that being a GCP member instills a degree of trust for our Partners as well in dealing with 1UP Cargo, that we have been properly vetted by JC Trans and meet their high standards.
JCtrans: How do you maintain a long-term cooperation relationship with your clients?
Kevin Addison: We strive for characteristics of trust and reliability in all shipments that we handle. We see ourselves as an extension of our Partners and local client’s business as our success is ultimately dependent on their success.
We operate a clean business with a good reputation and are happy to turn away any business or clients that do not comply with our strict regulatory requirements, both internal and Industry directed.
