Jctrans: Would you please make a brief introduction of your company?

Yihui Hoosemans-Chen: Yes of course! Kennis started the business with… potatoes!  

100 years ago, our current Managing Director Mr. Tobias Kennis’ great-grandfather started the business on his bike, delivering potatoes for the Belgium army. Now we are a team of hundreds, expanding the business together with our partners.

“Kennis” means “knowledge” in Dutch. Through the years, we’ve grown into the name: knowledge and absolute NO-compromise to good service have given Kennis the leading position in the market.

Jctrans: Would you please talk about your core-competitiveness?

Yihui Hoosemans-Chen: Core competitiveness, hmm. Warehousing? Trucking? Customs? Freight forwarding? Well, we have them all. But are these the ones that give us THE charm to attract business?

It is not the plan of today to detail you with how many square meters of warehouse space, how many trucks, how many shipping lines, airlines we have. Rather, I’d like to talk about the Kennis’ spirits.

I remember when I just joined Kennis, I was overwhelmed by the friendliness all the colleagues offer (and they still do J).Everyone is willing to lend a hand, teamwork is not just a term but a solid phenomenon that’s spontaneously going on in the company.

It might sound strange but we don’t always say yes to business. Some think we are crazy. It takes time to build up trust and reputation, and it can take only a few seconds to lose them. It is not Kennis’ philosophy to conquer the world, we “only” do what we can do, some call that conservativeness, we call it commitment.

When we give our promise, we aim for the best of the best outcome, with no excuse, no compromise.

This, is Kennis.

Jctrans: What do you think is the most important thing to run a logistics company?

Yihui Hoosemans-Chen: The logistic industry is very special and unique, one-man show does not exist, it always requires partners to get the job done. We see no competition but rather, cooperation.

It is of great importance for us to maintain the valuable network we have by ensuring that our clients and partners have mutual benefits and interests. Is win-win a cliché? Well, it is our belief!    

Jctrans: Would you please talk about the situation of logistic industry in your country? 

Yihui Hoosemans-Chen: Having the biggest harbor and 2nd biggest airport in the country makes Netherlands the most popular point for all logistics matters. Despite the side effect from the coronavirus, there is still an amazing amount of freight moving to and from the Netherlands.

Kennis stays fully operational in this complicated time, we are here to help customers with all logistics matters.

Jctrans: What is the reason that makes you become a GCP member to develop your business?

Yihui Hoosemans-Chen: Opportunities are everywhere, one and only strategy is to be ready and open at all times.
