JCtrans: Would you please make a brief introduction of your company?
Oliver Klitzing: Sure, in 1988 Gateway Cargo Systems GmbH was founded. On January 1 the following year the company was entered in the commercial register in Hamburg. Just a few years later in 1992 we received the IATA License.
This Year we received the AEO certificate, which mean we are a registered Partner of the Germany Customs.
Our Offices are strategically placed in Germany. So our headquarter is in Norderstedt which is close to the Hamburg Airport. Additionally, we are available in our second office in Kelsterbach, which is right by Frankfurt Airport.
The four elements of our daily work are air, water, road, and rail. Whether sewing needles or an entire needle factory: We passionately look for the best solution to meet your needs. You benefit from our participating interest in two container freight stations in Hamburg and Bremen. Moreover, you benefit from our close partnership with all the leading maritime shipping companies, airlines, and NVOCCs.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about your core-competitiveness?
Oliver Klitzing: Gateway Cargo Systems GmbH has a lot of difference services to offer. Based on our many years of experience and our particular portfolio we can offer you an outstanding price and high performance . Therefore, our core-competitiveness are Airfreight and Oceanfreight. Besides those services we offer many more. They include Logistics, Trucking, Railway Export and Import. Particularly we are familiar with FBA shipments. Our extensive knowledge helps us with these special shipments.
JCtrans: What do you think is the most important thing to run a logistics company?
Oliver Klitzing: The most important are well trained employees. They have to have the ability to find out the customers need and offer them the best solution at any time to any place. By providing the right solution for the customer we are the opinion of that excellence and reliability are key points.
Other than great employees, it is important for me to make clear decisions. Another great advantage of our company is the short decision-making paths.
Another important quality to run a logistics company is to invest in the future. Therefore, we are already offering a platform for our registered agents to get LCL Oceanfreightrates and are also planning to extend this innovative tool to the Airfreight sector.
Not to forget are our Agents we work with. They are very important for us.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about the situation of logistic industry in your country?
Oliver Klitzing: Since Germany is not a very large country and there are a lot of forwarding agencies the competition is very high. Therefore, it is important to offer the best service solution for our agents and clients at which we are quite good at.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about your strategy to explore foreign market?
Oliver Klitzing: In our point of view the most important part when exploring foreign markets are our agents. We have agents all over the world, so it is easy to discover new territories. In order to rely on our agents, we build a deep connection to them by visiting them on a regular basis. Additionally, we not only visit our agents all over the world, we also visit their clients. Our large network allows us to transport all shipments to every part of the world. Furthermore, we offer the possibility to communicate to our clients in their native language because Gateway Cargo Systems is a very multicultural company. Because of that, we benefit when we are exploring foreign markets.
JCtrans: What is the reason that makes you become a GCP member to develop your business?
Oliver Klitzing: For us the main reason to be a GCP member it is the security aspect when it comes to working with other GCP members. In case of a payment problem with new agents we are secured as a company, which is good. By having a secure working relationship both sides are reassured to build the right solution for the clients. After a successful collaboration the companies are likely to work together in the future.
JCtrans: How do you maintain a long-term cooperation relationship with your clients?
Oliver Klitzing: Gateway Cargo Systems offers every client excellent services and creates individually solutions for their shipment. Additionally, we care about our clients all the same, whether it is a regular or a stand-alone shipment. The most important aspect for us is that every client receives their shipment at the right time at the right place. We′d like our clients to know that we are a company that you can always rely on.
