Interview with Stanly Lee, CEO of Seacon Logistik
PT. SEACON LOGISTIK
JCtrans: Would you please make a brief introduction of your company? Stanly Lee: Our main business deals on global freight forwarding, such as: sea freight, airfreight, project logistics, custom broker, NVOCC, trading and modified container, warehousing, and also trucking. We have been awarded with ISO 9001:2015, a certification to ensure the consistent integration of quality into every aspect of our services. JCtrans: Would you please talk about your core-competitiveness? Stanly Lee: Seacon Logistik offers a total logistic solution, which we have our own custom brokers, and trucks to support the export import process, and we have our experienced team to give the best and the most effective service and solution for our customers. JCtrans: What do you think is the most important thing to run a logistics company? Stanly Lee: Honesty and experience. No long term relationship survives if the two parties aren’t honest with each other. In addition to providing a service to your client needs, your chief responsibility is to be open and honest in all of your dealings. The other thing is experience. Experience matters as much as the product/service itself. With proactive, well-timed engagement with customers, you can make sure they are getting all the support they need before they even ask. JCtrans: Would you please talk about the situation of logistic industry in your country? Stanly Lee: Indonesia’s Logistics Market is currently in the growth stage. There is no doubt that Indonesia has become the darling of the wider Southeast Asian economic region, one of the largest potential markets in the world JCtrans: Would you please talk about your strategy to explore foreign market? Stanly Lee: We have to research the potential markets. Screen them objectively both for opportunities and risk factors, such as investigate the regulatory environment, local culture, customs, and business etiquettes. Then we have to find the right partner in our new foreign market. By being flexible and willing to explore multiple routes and possibilities can help improve our chances. JCtrans: What is the reason that makes you become a GCP member to develop your business? Stanly Lee: By joining a trustable and reputable network in the logistics field, we are able to develop a great connection with other members, especially when we always get recommended by JCtrans to other members. JCtrans is facilitating future partnership to its member, and improve our connections. The other thing is, as a GCP member, we get assurance about making business with the right companies, and we also get a financial protection service. JCtrans: How do you maintain a long-term cooperation relationship with your clients? Stanly Lee: I believe, everyone is important, all relationship is important. So we have to build as many positive relationships as possible. Then always bring something to the table. Provide a unique value to our clients, because value is difficult to find anywhere else.
