JCtrans: Would you please make a brief introduction of your company?
Carlo Goyvaerts:
CGLS , founded in 2010 , is an all-round forwarder. We can handle all kinds of goods and can provide excellent service in airfreight , seafreight FCL & LCL , roadtransport , warehousing , all kinds of logistic projects , project cargo and customs brokerage. Our specialty is event and theatre logistics.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about your core-competitiveness?
Carlo Goyvaerts:
Core competitors to us are all forwarders as we are dealing with all kinds of goods. As competition is very hard , we must look forward to achieve more volume every year. This means we also need to expand our network every year and try to get business back from our agents.
JCtrans: What do you think is the most important thing to run a logistics company?
Carlo Goyvaerts:
The most important thing to me is that if you make agreements with your customer , you need to do everything in your power to respect these agreements. In this way you will build up a very strong relationship with your customers.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about the situation of logistic industry in your country?
Carlo Goyvaerts:
In Belgium we are overwhelmed with logistic providers and the competition is tough. Nevertheless if you specialize in a particular kind of cargo , you can still make a difference.
JCtrans: Would you please talk about your strategy to explore foreign market?
Carlo Goyvaerts:
My strategy is very simple. As I am more than 30 years in the forwarding business , I have build up my own network in most of the foreign countries. If I need a reliable agent in a country where I am not represented , I ask another agent in a neighbouring country to introduce me to his partner , what most of the time is no problem at all.
