    Deena Khalaf Operations Manager
JCtrans: Would you please make a brief introduction of your company? Deena Khalaf: Al Kamal established in Kuwait in 1976, then in Jordan in 1991, and in Palestine in 2009. Al Kamal is a registered member of FIATA and JC Trans Network as well as a member of AFFFAL (Arab Federation for Freight Forwarders & Logistics. Al Kamal’s services include Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Ocean/Air Freight internationally. JCtrans: Would you please talk about your core-competitiveness? Deena Khalaf: As a country under occupation by Israel, we share seaports and borders with Israel and are under Israeli custom laws; which operational-wise makes it harder to function. It also leads, to the Israeli Shipping Lines competing to make contact with the Palestinian Importers directly. Other competitors include Chinese suppliers in China who have competitive freight offers sent to the local importer in Palestine under C&F making it more difficult for the Palestinian Forwarder to compete better if not equally .. JCtrans: What do you think is the most important thing to run a logistics company? Deena Khalaf: No single important thing but various things that can sum up to: Management, teamwork, intelligence, finance, credibility, respect, legitimacy, trustworthy, principle. JCtrans: Would you please talk about the situation of logistic industry in your country? Deena Khalaf: Please revert to answer in number 2 JCtrans: Would you please talk about your strategy to explore foreign market? Deena Khalaf: Exploring foreign market would only work if it were relatable to the local market we have here. Strategy would include aiming Freight Networks, Freight forwarders and shipping lines internationally, and explaining our local market to the foreign market to create a connection between the two for a successful relationship. JCtrans: What is the reason that makes you become a GCP member to develop your business? Deena Khalaf: Our reason was to understand the foreign network and to bring it closer to home locally to create a more successful connection, which proved to be true; as we were introduced to many foreign companies that have assisted us to compete in the local market as a better freight forwarder in Palestine. JCtrans: How do you maintain a long-term cooperation relationship with your clients? Deena Khalaf: Management and Employee customer services Beneficial services to the clients like credit facilities Suggestions to clients to make their import a faster and affordable method.
