The MV Ever Given was successfully re-floated at 04:30 it 29/03/2021.

Significant progress has been made in the rescue of the container ship "Ever Given".It was successfully refloated at 4:30 a.m. local time on March 29.

As reported that the Taiwan Evergreen "Ever Given" ship was stuck in the Suez Canal for the seventh day, and there has been significant progress. According to the latest picture of the ship tracking website, the cargo ship that was stuck in two sections of the canal has stopped lying on its side and is "close to correcting its direction".

Maritime services provider Inchcape said, the MV Ever Given was successfully re-floated at 04:30 it 29/03/2021. The ship has been stranded for seven days in one of the world's most important trade routes.

Up to this time, 12 tugboats are trying to reorient the Ever Given to float vertically in the middle of the canal. In addition, the Suez Canal Authority has decided to bring the Ever Given tug to the Great Bitters. It is understood that more powerful tugboats will be involved in the rescue, the latest days are the best time to rescue.

Dredging work is continuing and another tugboat is on its way to help.Twenty-seven thousand cubic meters of sand have been removed. The queue has now swelled to more than 450 vessels, some of which have been diverted to the farther and more expensive southern tip of Africa, and operators have begun to warn of the risk of delays.

Earlier, on the evening of the 28th, according to the news from Reuters, the head of the Suez Canal Authority told local media that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi had ordered to reduce the load of the stranded cargo ship.

Meanwhile, the Suez Canal Authority said tugboats and dredging operations would continue depending on wind and tide conditions.

The head of the Suez Canal Authority, Osama Rabieh, reportedly told a news conference in the city that strong winds and dust storms were not the only factors that contributed to the accident."This kind of complex problem can have many factors, it could be technical failure, it could be human error," he said,I won't be able to determine the exact cause until the investigation is complete."

According to Xinhua News Agency, about 15 percent of the world's cargo ships pass through the Suez Canal.Lars Jensen, chief executive of the Danish Shipping Intelligence consultancy, said about 30 heavy cargo ships pass through the Suez Canal every day, and a single day of congestion means 55,000 containers are delayed.

Allianz, the German insurance giant, estimates that the blockage of the Suez Canal could cost global trade between $6 billion and $10 billion a week.Affected by this, the current Capesize ship freight rates have been climbing.Shipowners said a prolonged rescue operation could have a knock-on effect on rates across all sections, raising the cost of global trade.
