A container ship, Sinar Solo, collided with a Panamax bulk carrier, Taho Australia, in the Singapore Strait near Lakao Island, north of the Indonesian island of Riau, on May 6.
As a result of the accident, the starboard area of the container ship suffered damage, and several other containers were also damaged.
The bulk carrier also suffered surface damage, but the ship was allowed to resume sailing shortly after the accident, en route from Santos, Brazil, to China.
The container ship dropped anchor near the site of the collision and moved to the Singapore anchorage on May 7. It remains at the same position as at 1300 UTC May 7. The Sinar Solo was on its way from Singapore to Bangkok, Thailand.
The freight forwarders who have cargo stowage in this ship for transshipment recently should pay attention to the information of the shipping company, the damage of the goods and the dynamics of the ship in time to avoid the impact caused by the delay.
