Ms. Shantha Martin: PENTAGON GROUP is in the business of Logistics, Construction,Telecom, Hospitality and Education. The Logistics arm has been operational for over a decade and it has two companies under it, PENTAGON INTERNATIONAL FREIGHT SOLUTIONS PVT LTD and CARGO CONSOLIDATORS INDIA PVT LTD.The Logistics Business construe Supply Chain solutions, Ocean and Air consolidation, Warehousing, Project-Cargo management, surface transport and charter by ocean and air. 

JCtrans: Would you please talk about your core-competitiveness? 

Ms. Shantha Martin: Our core competitiveness is Integrated Logistics Services providing an end to end solution to our customers through cargo consolidation and freight forwarding. 

JCtrans: What do you think is the most important thing to run a logistics company? 

Ms. Shantha Martin: The utmost thing of importance is to stay ahead through innovation, and this is true for any company. When it comes to a logistics company, it is required that a seamless end to end communication channel is in place, such that the chain of events involved in cargo movement becomes seamless, to this effect a good use of Information Technology (the ever evolving digital platform) assumes vital importance. 

JCtrans: Would you please talk about the situation of logistic industry in your country? 

Ms. Shantha Martin: As the country’s economy grows, thelogistics industry grows alongside. With strategic warehousing gaining a new fillip and the need for specialized supply chain requirements, the logistics industry is only set to grow 

JCtrans: Would you please talk about your strategy to explore foreign market? 

Ms. Shantha Martin: We are working with several competent agents and we will focus on niche markets, enter into JV. Based on market potential we would also be looking atacquisitions. 

JCtrans: What is the reason that makes you become a GCP member to develop your business? 

Ms. Shantha Martin: It provides a platform to network with competent agents for freight forwarding and consolidations. Also they can look at us to represent their set up in India. 

JCtrans: How do you maintain a long-term cooperation relationship with your clients? 

Ms. Shantha Martin: In my opinion the key to a long-term relationship is the ability to deliver the goals of that business relationship.With client satisfaction/delight, the client will keep coming back to us, thereby bringing in a long-term cooperation/relationship. We focus a lot on customer service and engage our clients through feedbacks and participation such that we can innovate upon various product offerings. We will strive to become leaders in customerization of logistic services and with long-term cooperation/relationship with our clients, we will achieve it in the times to come.
