Shipside/Marine Packing and Marine Freight Trucking have combined operations at 1601 South Highland Avenue, Baltimore, and offer their customers a total distribution service. Shipside/Marine and Marine Freight, sister divisions of Ramsay, Scarlett & Co., provide a total package of warehouse services plus local and over-the-road trucking within 200 miles from one fully-integrated location.
WAREHOUSING
Shipside/Marine performs a variety of warehouse functions including cargo consolidation and storage, transloading, containerization, palletization and other value added services. Its experience includes the handling of a wide mixture of cargo ranging from heavy machinery, steel products, lumber, general freight, metals, chemicals and other packaged commodities. Shipside/Marine uses forklift equipment, with capacities ranging to 36,000 Ibs.
TRUCKING
Marine Freight, with 48-state common and contract carrier authority, handles containers and breakbulk cargo for shippers and consignees between their own docks, rail ramps, truck depots and steamship terminals.
TOTAL SERVICES
The Shipside/Marine and Marine Freight facility is located on the waterfront, within close proximity to all Baltimore piers. It offers 220,000 sq. ft. of covered space, with 4 indoor and 6 outdoor truck docks, and 3 oversized drive-in doors.
The facility also has 2.0 acre outside storage area. It is served by the Norfolk and Southern, CSX and Canton Railroads, and we unload or load rail cars. The property is fenced and policed by night watchmen, and is sprinklered and electronically secured.
